About me, in brief:
Since July 2026, I have enjoyed the uncomplicated life of a single man in Round Rock, Texas. Writing is my passion. Side interests are traveling and fitness. I have things to accomplish and the perseverance to contribute. My history:
U.S. Navy: For seven years during the Vietnam era, culminating as advanced jet instructor pilot at Chase Field in Beeville. Shipboard billets included the USS Marsh DE-699 and the USS Bexar APA-237 on the West Coast. Additionally, a (very) short stint in the BUDS/S training program in Coronado. Widely experienced officer with responsibilities commensurate with rank. Naval Aviator # V-27816. Go Navy!
Architecture: For thirty-two years, a partner with McCleary-German Architects, a 15+ person office in Houston. Our design specialty was (and continues to be) the financial industry: banks, savings associations, and credit unions. Responsibilities included design, construction documents and project management of commercial projects of every shape and size. Registered A.I.A., NCARB and A.S.I.D. Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Architecture in Urban Design, Rice University. Texas Society of Architects Design Award, 1984.
Writing: Updated my fifth book, What, Me Happy?, in September 2025. During the research for this self-help manual, a previously unknown fact was uncovered. Most of us humans are in control of our own happiness! When not busy at my computer, fitness and body building are priorities. Also, making as many friends as will accept me, and enjoying my leisure time.
Before relocating and downsizing, my residence for 18 years was a sumptuous home in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Now that I reside in Round Rock, I am happily occupying a small apartment (please call it a unit) in a modern mid-rise. I have no house, thus few worries. My life is good, I am free to roam the earth. I do value my friendships. Text me. Talk to me.
